That game was good... but I'm not sure that it was over! I think he really did have to go, because he had lots of units producing and easily could have put up a fight; and he had a better economy than the German. (I'm just sad that it's over) ;)
Nevertheless, it was a good game with--as the title says--smoke and gas. Gas, in my opinion, devastated the French player while the German did a good job dodging smoke.
Games are always fun when they start with a frax and end a long time later. Thanks for the upload!

Yes I saw that as well. It did seem legit that the france player really had to go. But the tide had turned in this match. The german player was starting to take over IMO, despite the economical differences in the game.
I thought there were a few factors why Germany made a great comback.
1. Much better Micro of units
2. Air attack that surprised the French player and countered his Freedom fighters.
3. Better scouting with dog. The German was able to see the french player building a Tank factory with bikes being produced so he countered with an effective airport.
4. And the most deadly of all, GAS ATTACKS! There was one point in the match where the german moved all of his units to the rear of the base while the french units attacked with smoke to take out German barracks. There was one lonely mortar in the heat of the battle that was overlooked by France. That one mortar released a gas shell and wiped out the entire france army! I was on the edge of my seat when I saw that move.
This is a great watch despite it being an unfinished game.

Exactly. It is very nice to watch and I would have expected the German to win, had the match continued. I agree about that excellent scouting, and planes were built immediately. Most people do not expect German planes because of the lack of bombers, but those fighters made a difference.
I don't know what the French player was thinking during that gas attack. One gas shell did so much--it turned the whole game around.
After that mortar shell and continued harassment by fighters, the France player retreated, signalling the end of his long forward base attack.
This was, as you said, a great match to watch despite the ending--and the fact that we don't know who would have won shows how close this match was.
Once again, thanks for the upload, as there haven't been many lately.
