Not a very good game there, since UK massed infantry while the Russia was able to produce suitable counters, with some faults.
Firstly, Russia scouted out early in the game. However, later, he began massing units without knowledge of UK's army. One mistake is that anti-air guns were produced when UK haven't even have an Airport yet! (Even though UK built one later)
Secondly, Russia was effective in building his units. A Commissar was effectively produced to challenge the stealthy commandoes.
Thirdly, UK, even though used Secret Agents to scout, was still massing Tommies when Russia was pulling off Armored Cars. The scouting effect was rendered useless. He should have gotten a Tank and Siege Factory, used tanks and some anti-tanks.
Mistakes:
1. I know it's tough to produce units during a battle. But both players have abundant resources in their inventory when the battle rages. Units should still be produced consistently. Hotkeying military buildings would help, with rally points as well.
2. A charge towards an enemy's army is only when you know your army has the advantage. In the game, however, UK underestimated Russia little numbers. However, the Russians units are stronger against Tommies, thus UK retreats. I guessed Russia saw the chance that UK is only massing Tommies and that it charged towards it and won.
3. Lack of usage of key buildings. Russia could have gotten towers down to prevent further commando rushes at key points. UK, did not notice the fact that the Russian army was out from the base, no towers, no detectors, could have sent commandoes to clear up the base. Ineffective scouting.
Next, houses. When under attack, houses are the perfect choice to stay defended (Though only for a short while). The early commando rush could have failed easily if the Russian was pumping Commissars while the Comrades are taking refuge in the houses.
4. Raiding. UK was not raiding, in fact, using Commandoes to attack Conscripts. It is VERY unwise to attack units rather than the economy. Furthermore, commandoes could have entered from different locations as it was a Plains Map. The Russian would have cried, seeing he couldn't do anything to prevent multiple raiding. In addition, the Commandoes could have used the Speed Charge to run from the Commissar. And continue raiding. Commissars are slower than Commandoes.
Additional Comments:
Nevertheless, the strategy used for the Commando Rush was well-done. Perfect income of food and gold for commando production. The Russians also countered the commandoes well and effectively.[Edited on 11/07/06 @ 03:54 AM]
