Empires: Retail Release |
Welcome to “A City on the Hill”, the goal of this scenario is to utilize your units in order to stay alive for the longest possible period. Your enemies will assault what remains of the shattered city you are hopelessly defending with a wide variety of unit types. As you play you will be updated on your “score” via a chat message. The objective is to achieve the highest possible final score.
Be forewarned, the units in this scenario have been highly altered. Unit relations are very strict, counter units are highly effective at killing what they have been designed to counter.
Every 120 seconds you will be promoted with a message window. In this window you can either choose to receive reinforcements, or to alter the scoring modifier. If you choose to alter the scoring modifier you will receive a greater number of points for each second that passes.
Good Luck

Okay I have updated the file; here is what I have changed.
- Players are given a warning when they take their units off the hill. If they do not bring their units back on the hill they will be defeated within 20 seconds of the warning.
- What units counter what is now more explicitly spelt out in the objectives section and the readme file.
- The incorrect spelling of "shield" has been fixed.
- When the enemy units get to the top of the hill, they will now start to search for the remaining player 1 units. |

I am pretty busy right now, so I don't know when I will get a chance to even start on chapter 2. Just so you know, chapters 2 and 3 won't even feature Canada, they will mostly have to do with the United States and the Confederate States. |

According to the plan there isn't another scenario involving Canada until the First World War (Chapter 4).
Chapter 2 deals with the American War of Sucession and Chapter 3 deals with the Confederate-Latin American War.
That said, I haven't even started on any of those chapters yet, and I don't have any plans in the future to start on them. |

Some more comments:
- I didn't let the music play into the rating as it's more of a matter of taste whether you like it or not.
Suggestions for a possible third version:
- Divide the invading forces into different players so that I can identify them on the mini-map. For example, Green is archers, black is cavalry, white is spearman, and so on.
- I found a bug which gives you another score update after giving you your "Final Score". Nothing major, though. |
