Battle of Berlin - in this scenario the player is given command of Russian soldiers, prepared to charge through Berlin. It was a fun and creative scenario, though there are some minor things I've got to say.
Playability - 5
First of all; it was a fun scenario, really. You could somehow feel the hell your men are up to. This was achieved by putting music into the scenario (which is, I believe, from Call of Duty). But it could've been a 5. I'll explain why.
The thing that decreased this score, was the fact that the only thing the player had to do was to send his soldiers into battle, let htem be slaughtered by the enemy fire, and charge the next wave of soldiers. It would've been more fun if the player was given command of tanks, or even planes.
Though, this does not take away the amount of fun I had while playing it.

The Battle For Berlin
The Battle for Berlin tries to recreate the intense battle between the Soviets and Germans in Berlin in 1945, near the close of the war. For the most part the scenario succeeds through creating a believable atmosphere through the use of map design and sounds. The actually game play itself is not particularly deep, but deep game play does not seem to be the objective of this scenario. Rather the author is looking to create what I can best describe as an interactive cinematic.
For the first part of the scenario you control a series of constantly respawning Soviet units. While playing the first part there isn’t a lot of room for tactical innovation. You are provided with a Commissar, and his special abilities can be employed to assist your squadron. But largely, the first part of the scenario is about slugging it out with a series of German units. Though this may not sound like a lot of fun, the scenario is made more by the atmosphere then the gameplay itself. The second part of the scenario has you leading a flag carrier towards the Brandenburg Gate. In this part of the scenario it is possible to lose as you will be defeated if the flag carrier falls.
[Playability]: The scenario was fairly enjoyable, as I said the gameplay was not particularly inspired, but the experience was made mesmerizing by the stellar use of map design and sound effects. For the most part I didn’t notice any bugs, but then again, I spent most of my time looking around at the destroyed section of the town. One feature of the scenario that I did find annoying was the cinematic that plays upon the death of the flag carrier. The cinematic is looped, so every time I tried to hit esc to reload from my last save point, the cinematic would start up again, and I would have to wait for it to complete, or move the mouse quickly before I could reload the scenario. Though I only died once, and it was during my second run through the scenario, I found this highly irritating.
[4]
Playability Improvement: There is no need to have the carrier dying cinematic looped, allow players to exit the cinematic
[Balance]: As mentioned the scenario is not particularly deep. There is very little choice in the routes to take through Berlin, and very little room to attempt to maneuver around the Germans. I did like the fact that the author didn’t force me to restart the scenario by adding some sort of limit to the number of reinforcements. Generally, the time necessary to beat the Germans if you fail to use your units properly is punishment enough.
[3]
Balance Improvements: Though I understand that it would rather difficult to revamp the scenario to include new routes and more maneuvering room, but this scenario cannot receive a perfect score in this category in its current state.
[Creativity]: This scenario employs a fantastic series, of map design tricks and graphic tricks. The sounds and music, which were probably lifted from some World War II first person shooter, were all appropriate and only added to the experience.
[5]
Creativity Improvements: Nothing
[Map Design]: The map design in this scenario is fantastic. The author of this scenario has done an excellent job utilizing the tools available in Empires to create a very realistic looking bombed out city. If I were to choose one map design element that I was particularly enamored with, it would be the barricades that were designed out of wall segments with staircases attached. Something about these defenses struck me as particularly creative.
[5]
Map Design Improvements: Nothing
[Story/Instructions]: The author provided the player with ample instructions and background history. I had no problems achieving or understanding the objectives.

Story Instruction Improvements: Nothing
Final Comments: If you are looking for a short fairly forgiving scenario to pass the time by playing, I highly recommend taking a look at The Battle for Berlin.

Finally, 4 months after my sound card was broke, I have an toher new. My father didnt want buy another because he said that my academic marks were low... But now I can play again hearding all sounds and music of all campaings. When I played the first time it I didnt do a review of it because people said that it had a good sounds and music and I couldnt appreciate that but now I can.
Playability: 5
It is one of the camapigns that have a better playability. Really I have played it a lot if times and always is funny. Maybe is a "bit" short but really is very good.
Balance: 5
Germans are more but you receive reinforcements just when need them, always you have reinforcements avaibles. In the first part you cant loose but you could update again making a trigger than it: "If player 1 loose more thatn 500 people player 1 loose the match.". making the trigger there are a way to loose in the first part.
Creativity: 4
All in this campaign is very good but all you have to do is equal: advance hardly by Berlin streets and there are not optional objectives. However the sounds are very, very good (music from call of Duty, people talking, surrender messages, sounds of planes...)
Map Design: 5
Always field Marshall make very good map designs and it is the best example of a good city design. Buildings damages, germans hidden in ruins, barricades, etc
Story/Instructions: 5
Instructions are clear, you have raise the Red Flag over Brandenbourg Gate, destroy the antitank guns and your Flag barearer must no die. Story is also very good, in the menu you have a lot of information about the Battle for Berlin
Additional Comments:
One of the best playables scenarios that exists in empires.heavengames. It looks perfect, I love sounds and it have a lot (How you extracted the sounds of Call of Duty? In Medal of Honor you can extract the sounds but in CoD I think no)
Maybe you could do another update to add the trigger to loose in the 1st part.
Good work Field marshall, now, could you do a review of any of my campaigns? (Please no Band of Brothers trailer) :D |

This was a little too easy. i think you could of won if you did nothing, but it was really fun to watch. the only thing preventing you from winning is which way you go.
Balance: 3
Germans had very good soliers compared to russia, but still, russia had too many. like i said in the playibility.
Creativity: 5
from here on, things skyrocket. sure, there are a lot of berlin scns, but this is so far the best. you got the voices, and you used soldiats to even it just a little. good thinking of units. i liked how you put a german with a megaphone asking for the russians to surrender. like i said before, the music was good, but it gets annoying after a while.
Map Design: 5
This map was the best of all scns ive seen (except for d-day massacure). this goes with creativity. the map looks like your in an actual town
Story/Instructions: 5
there is not much to say here. you were very clear on this. when you finished one objective, it moves you to another. good job.
Additional Comments: ive played this scn about six times and ive never been tired of it. there is one thing i do suggest. turn off the cheats. i found no bugs, except, when i destroyed anti tank nothing happened. otherwise, make some more, and i need some help with triggers.
