Well, both players are most likely higher caliber than myself so I'm hesitant to criticize their gameplay, so I'll just focus on what happened.
I'm guessing the host was the observer (so actually 3 players) so couldn't exactly tell always whats being researched/trained.
Up to 15 Minute Mark:
No large threat rushing yet, Mats is using all his resources to build barracks and an armory. Would of bet my money on him until I saw that Crazylight was hoarding his wood to make a tank factory and airport. Still, Mats does have the larger army/more pop. than Crazy..Also, I'm guessing Crazy had some trouble early on getting enough food to pump both cits and infantry seeing as Mats has more men and the training light indicator was off a few times.
~15 Mins, Crazy attacks, but one nicely shot smokescreen blinds his tanks/infantry. Both retreat.
By the 30 minute mark, I'm sure Blue/Mat has got to win this game. Despite using mainly smokescreen and basic infantry, he is easily killing off Crazy and evading his bombers and self healing afterward, the better micro-manager I believe. The use/power of smokescreen is quite an eye-opener since I usually avoid playing as France. Although Crazy has the more powerful and least requiring micromanaging of tanks and bombers, Mat can better micromanage his larger infantry army, continuously gaining the upper hand, every time so far.
Also, unless Crazy wants to mass produce bombers, I have yet to see why he is hoarding 2k+ wood, but maybe it's a suprise..
At the 35 minute mark, the big highlight was Crazy's bulldozing tanks passing right through several of Mat's infantry. They were eventually destroyed though, and I'm noticing that Mats is only producing from his tank factory while all his barracks are idle, no doubt from lack of food. He should really boom more and change his woodcutters to something more useful. I'm also curious as to why he doesn't build some of his own smokescreen men. And at exactly 35 minutes, Mats attacks and annihilates the enemy.
Looking at the post game graph, he was outproducing him at the 7 minute mark, and it only gets worst. Mats is obviously a good French player and shows hows micromanaging can really make a huge difference in Empires with so many varying powers and dynamics.
Not the best game to watch since one player is a good bit better than the other, but still a good game for any French wannabes.
