As many of you may know, forummer Rotaretilbo decided to investigate how much activity this site, Empires Heaven, would be likely to receive if it were to be reopened. He then, armed with a list of people saying they wanted it reopened, emailed the Exco asking them about the possibility. This email resulted in Empires Heaven's reopening, so everybody should give a large thank you to Rotaretilbo.
For anybody who may be curious, I am going to be seraph of this heaven and I believe that, at least in the beginning, I will be the only staffer. As soon as some more of the details of the opening get ironed out, I'll inform you all of who exactly is going to be a moderator and who not. Enjoy the heaven.

Wow, I picked up on this three minutes after it opened. I'd better start surfing the web less frequently.
Anywho, some questions, mostly about the game itself:
-What is it about? I've heard it is Empire Earth, just from the middle ages to WW2. -Where can I buy it, how much does it cost, and is it worth it in terms of enjoyment? -How easy and powerful is the editor? -Is there still a large fan base that would be willing to download my scenarios?

In a way its very similar. There are 5 ages: Medieval, Gunpowder, Imperial, WW1 and WW2. Empires was made by the same company that made EE so they are very similar. Empires has a much larger difference between the ages than EE does, though, because of the fewer number of them.
-Where can I buy it, how much does it cost, and is it worth it in terms of enjoyment?
You might get lucky and find it in a bargain bin at a game store for about $5. Most likely, though, you'll have to find it on eBay. I just checked prices and bids were anywhere from $.99 to $6.00 . Its a lot of fun, great campaigns and enough people online to get a game if you have the patience to wait a couple minutes for people.
-How easy and powerful is the editor?
Basically identical to the EE editor. Meaning it runs off triggers and is debatedly the most powerful and easy editor there is.
-Is there still a large fan base that would be willing to download my scenarios?
This one I'm not as sure about. There is a fairly small online crowd now a days, but if EH picks up in activity with its re-opening that crowd might swell up.

Glad to hear it's re-opened!
I guess I'll just add this to the list of games covered by HG that I want to buy.

In my personal opinion, Empires is much more playable than Empire Earth.

Wow, this is a strange feeling. I haven't posted here in years. Glad to see it reopened. I hope I can get back into the business of scenario building, but college may kill that >.<
Anyway, thanks for your efforts Rotaretilbo, good to see you all and I look forward to our time here

So are any of you game for a forum party? I made a thread in General Discussions but I guess that trying to have one tomorrow would be too short notice for now. Sunday, maybe. If not then definitely next week.

Well, I'm gone for the rest of the weekend, and my PC still has a few...bugs. I don't know if any of my games will run until I've worked these out.

Well, don't rule out identity theft as an option if you're strapped for cash. It's far easier than robbing a bank as you can do it from the comfort of your own home while eating Cheetos. Also, you don't have to invest in fake firearms or lousy ski masks that fall off on your way out of the building.

He would have to invest in Cheetohs, though.

Blast...my plans are foiled. I can neither afford ski masks nor cheetos...looks like I'll have to make do with a scuba mask or...hmm...I think there are goldfish somewhere in the house...
