Are there berry bushes in Empires?

(To those who were preparing themselves for a political debate....Naw!).

No really, what kind of food is there in Empires?

Wrong forum if you are talking about Empires. But I am sure they will have some type of food before farms.

What I just said is a lie.

I know. Hehe...

Berry Bushes, hey EE's berry bushes looked weird. I hope they make recs similiar to AoM's...they run out, you can put as many villies as you want...

Resources will be unlimited in Standard variant with limited amount of harvesters. In Tournamenet, resources will run out but you can put as many workers.

I always thought the idea of the pumpkin patch must have been a joke... unless you can actually feed an entire civilization off of pumpkins... I don't know, that's a lot of pumpkin pie.

At least you can get differnt berries from bushes )

Apparently citizens in EE were very fond of pumpkins

Well berry bushes is kinda lame too but you gotta admit the berry bushes in AoM look way better than the pumpkins in EE. So they should add berry bushes.

And unlimited recources is a terrible, terrible idea. Ruins the game.

Yes, you wall yourself in and you never run out. But, then, you add more, er, um... Desperate strategies to your game (massed fire ox, lol).

Looking forward to AoE3 - big population cap > AoM

Again, in Tournament, resources run out and you can put as many villies on them. In Standard, resources are unlimited and you can only have a number of villies on them.

Your title scared me...
But what are they? I bet there will be hunting, I just loved the way hunting was done in EE , it's like one of my favorite things in the game.

Since their using the same engine, I'm almost sure there will.

I would like to put in my vote for beets. I would like to support my population purely on beets. and the farm would only produce corn... so citizens woul dbe fed entirely on beets and corn... hey they could make corn bread! I love corn bread

Animals, I knew there was something missing.

RON has done a pretty good job with unlimited resources as well as the metals in EE.

I hope not.. that would be kind of scary lol

In WW2 era, instead of plague invested cows, the english should be able to send Nuclear/Gas ridden cows to enemy bases. Then everytime they are deposited into the stockpile a certain number of citizens get sick and slowly die until the player no longer gathers from the cow.
That would be pretty awesome.

We could eat Dinosaurs..imagine, lol.

Well, seeing as their are unlimited recs, which is a fatal idea in my opinion(an idea that takes away the games re-playability with RM, and even DM), the berry bushes won't be there. Or they'll look like the ugly pumpkin ones.

But...tournament mode or osmething has limited recs which is good. I'm sure it'll be the most popular mode then.

Dunno, I liked the idea of a large patch instead of several small sources of food income.

What about both? Bushes and *patches, and use one of them for scenarios.

But I do agree in a way, pumpkins are a bit of a bad choice.

And the 'therefore lack of' can also ruin the game. The developers need to decide whether they want fast games where everyone uses surgical strikes to take resources as their own stash begins to run low, or mildly slower games where everyone slugs it out with resources that never run out.

One idea can be for resources to grow back. After your farm is exhausted, you have to wait until the field has grown up again. Not unlike the system the Cossacks engine uses. The same can be said of berry bushes, fish, and wild life.

Another concern is minerals. Minerals don't 'grow back' and when a game stretches into a hour or so, those minerals would begin to run out forming stalemates not unlike AOK's DM pike men and skirmisher wars.

What about "breeding" berry bushes? That is, berry bushes/patches that grew in numbers the same way as they did in EE? So that if you discover a patch of bushes late in the game... need I say more?

Anyways. Just another idea that won't be implemented as the devs probably have the resource system sorted out already.
