While I was perusing CAD for the latest gaming inspired comic I stumbled upon a link for a nifty program called FaceGen. The program allows you to use 2D pictures to create a 3D model, which you can then alter through an extensive series of options. You can also create your own unique face if you so desire.

You can download the demo of the program here if you want to try it out yourself. The downside is that the program is only a demo so you can only give your models a limited number of haircuts: bald, long red hair, or short black.

Report From the Front

Sorry for the delay, its been a busy last few weeks.

It has been a fairly interesting last few weeks here at Empires Heaven, let me bring you up to speed.

A few weeks ago mitch1971 released his fantastic World War II campaign entitled Moody's Men. Here is what our resident reviewer and Angel Talon Karrde had to say about it:
This campaign is eminently creative. Each soldier can have up to two grenades, smoke or fragmentation, and they throw them separately and at whatever target you wish. As is fairly obvious, fragmentation grenades do damage to enemy infantry. Smoke grenades cause the enemy in the area of the smoke to not see you--in other words, to not fire at you. On top of this, you can even grenade tanks! Beyond grenades, engineers can lay down remote mines, which are the only explosives available to you that are powerful enough to take out the flak guns you need to destroy.

Also, on the forums _o0XxX0o_ has started up an interesting thread displaying some design tricks he has come across. Some of the stuff he has come up with is absolutely mind-boggling.

Unfortunately, I don’t have anything history related to recommend perusing this week. Instead I have my write up from Midway’s Gamers’ Day Event which I attended on the 28th. If Unreal Tournament 2007, Rise and Fall Civilizations at War, Mortal Kombat Armageddon or any other up coming Midway game has piqued your interest I suggest checking my write up out.

...And the Result are In!

Two weeks ago we asked the question: What upcoming RTS title are you most looking forward to? The poll turned out to be very close in the end with Medieval: Total War II winning over Rise and Fall by just a few votes. Here are the final results:
Battle for Middle Earth 2: 16%
Company of Heroes: 6%
Europa Universalis III: 7%
Medieval Total War II: 27%
Rise and Fall: 21%
Rise of Legends: 8%
Star Wars: Empire at War: 10%
Other: 7%

This week we are asking the question: How often do you download scenarios?

Are you interested in Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War?
