The English Nation in Empires spans from the Middle Epoch to the 1900s. The English were a strong empire during this time and have many amazing units to help them in their medeval and imperial conquests.

Battlefield Surgeon

Available - Imperial Epoch - WW2
Key Features - No attacking ability, but the unit can revive dead troops including enemy infantry. All revived soldiers automatically join the side of the surgeon. This makes having at least a few surgeons a requirement in any army and less micromanging for the player.

"The unarmed and unarmored Surgeon, at the mercy of all the lethal threats of war, had to forge unprotected into the maelstrom of combat to minister to the fallen. With skill and courage, however, the Surgeon could preserve an army's most valuable resource, its people" - Detailed Information

Highlander

Available - Middle
Key Features - The Highlander is the elite of the Scottish Army. Using their long and very powerful sword, they can cut down all enemies surrounding them using a special 360 degree attack.

"Only the clan leaders - the "knights" of Scotland's patchwork social structure -- could afford a Claymore, a helmet, and a coat of mail, and they spent more time squabbling amongst themselves than they did working to turn Scotland into a unified nation. But when the English tried to conquer the Highlands, they stood united." - Detailed Information

Longswordsman

Available - Middle - Renaissance
Key Features - The longswordsman is your best ground infantry. It can provide a devastating attack as well as use its "Engage" ability to shield away oncoming missilies such as arrows. So the archers keep firing but the longswordsman sustains no damage.

"Such defensive prowess had a price, of course. While advancing with shields raised, the Longswordman were vulnerable to enemy melee attack, and his slower speed put him at particular risk from the enemy's cavalry." - Detailed Information

Regimental Drummer

Available - Renaissance
Key Features - The drummer was required to issue orders during the heat of battle while cannons and gun fire echoed everywhere. This unit is a morale booster to nearby units, making them run, shoot and perform faster.

"From the early Renaissance through the end of the Napoleonic era, warfare became ever more stylized: battles became an intricate form of choreography, whose maneuvers were intended to apply or negate pressure-by-movement and fire." - Detailed Information
