War of 1812 (2in1)

Version: Empires: Retail Release
This is a smaller map stretching from Fort Detroit and the spike pits of Fort Malden on the left to Fort George and Fort Niagra on the right side of the map. In order to defend your land you will need to upgrade and build new structures, such as new cannon firing towers, and updated Battleships. The war takes place in the Imperial Age of the game, it is set to General (5) skill level, but can easily be turned up higher by changing it in the scenario editor. I have included an American and Canadian version, so you can choose to be either side in this sometimes forgotten war. Enjoy!

iNtRePiD This scenario might be too easy. I decided to play the Canadian version, but before I did I went into the scenario editor and turned the computer up to level 10. Even with this alteration I beat the Americans in less than 15 minutes simply by pumping out ships. The computer surrendered so I never even had to land any forces.

You may want to consider increasing the number of enemy ships in both scenarios so that taking control of the water is a little more challenging.

Alright, I can fix that. As soon as my computer is up and running, I'll install Empires, and upload an update for this scenario. That shouldn't be too long.

Thanks for the info btw.

Playability: 3
You are put very quickly into the action as you are being attacked by Mary Rose ships at the beginning. Your forces are easy to command. It is really short, though.

Balance: 2
I tried only the Canadian side. It is way too easy. Just train some ships (Victory vs Mary Rose, it should not be too hard) and use Mercenaries two times. You now have a huge army to invade the American side. Even though they have not surrendered, I had no difficulty at all to destroy every building.

Creativity: 4
It is the first time I see this war depicted in a scenario. I also find the idea of be able to fight on either side to be great.

Map Design: 2
Every part of the map is very basic. Practically no eye candy, at least nothing striking. Also, I was unpleased by the Americans having British names! How come do the Americans have a Castle?

Story/Instructions: 1
No objectives and too few information at the beginning. I had to 'guess' that I had to kill everyone.

Additional Comments:
Nice idea that ended up in a incomplete scenario.
