Empires: Retail Release |
This is my second scenario. It is fictional one and you play as a Amercian Soilder and his mission to rid a desert city of German occupation. Please tell me of any bugs or broken triggers. Hope you have fun playing :) |

In this scn you take control of Lt. John and his men and kill some Germans. While ur at it you keep ur supply lines running and free POWs. You also help resistance groups in the occupied city. Its like the entire Patton campaign in one scn. (except the arty barrage :)
Playability: 3
While it was fun to play, there wasnt anything really outstanding here. I rebuild my troops inbetween battles, draw out the enemy troops little by little, aid the resistance vs the counterattacks, etc.
Balance: 3
The germans were easy to defeat but it took a while. The scn gave me no reason to be in a rush though.
Creativity: 2
This seems exactly like the scns that come in the Patton Campaign. Army rangers, tanks, infantry and at guns vs germans in desert uniform. POW camps are nothing new because they were in the campaign too.
Map Design: 4
The map was very well done. Terrain was blended, all the space was used, units were placed were they should have been etc. The reason it didnt get a 5 is because there were no tricks, nothing out of the ordinary. No resizing, replacing, etc.
Story/Instructions: 4
The instructions were fairly clear. I missed the part about Lt. John staying alive but that can be assumed these days. Although you cant forget that this may be some1s very first scn with a hero or they havent played other keep him or die scns. The story line could have used work, with dates, places, historical signifcance. Why the city is important? How did we get to where we are?
Additional Comments:
Good job, next time come up with a more original idea. Well impletemented. :S |

Playability: 3
Playability was okay throughout the scn but it got a bit boring, building new units, sending them up, kill a few germans, defend the base, [repeat x 5]
You get the picture...
Balance: 2
Balance was shifted heavily on the Germans side. (Whether it was meant to be like that I don't know.) This is what lead to the playability being boring I suppose. However the events like 'king tiger has been sighted' were pretty fun.
Creativity: 2
There are lots and lots of WW2 scenarios out there (which is a good thing) but this also means I can't give you much of a rating in the creativity side. :)
Map Design: 3
I think the map design was the best bit of the scenario, although bland in many areas -more terrain mixing- the city looked pretty nice. Especially the main like highway bit thing, with the palm trees.
Story/Instructions: 3
There was no huge backstory to the scn, and no real reason why the Germans were there. The instructions though were alright because I knew what to do, and that's all really.
Additional Comments:
- Bit more terrain mixing
- More eye candy
- A nice cinematic would be nice
Nice work! :) |
