My first campaing is about the rhine crossing. It is about the americans and british soldiers crossing the rhine when operation market garden started. You and your troops need to cross the rhine and destroy the POW camp and the Main german base. (note, it is still a Beta) I like to see a few reviews and tips, these can be placed on the empires site, and also can be send to my e-mail.
Hi all this is my first map and i like to see some commments and tips.
thx

ummmm well.......it wasent to good, first of all your hopelesly outnumberd, second, the map was very bland, try to improve that in future scenario/cmpns. The instructions werent to clear either. Basecly it needs alot of work. so keep workin.

I didn't find it that bad. Due to the lack of directives, I merely followed my nose to acheive the objectives. Here is how I thought you wanted me to proceed: At the beginning, the bridge in the east is captured by an allied army. This, together with the apparent immovability of the tank traps on the bridge in the west, was supposed to make me head south via the east bridge. The 4 units at the south west of the map at the beginning are supposed to make it out of their little nook so a superfluous sabateur can join my war machine coming south. When we meet, we demolish the headquarters with the tiger tank in guard with great difficulty. We then head back east and do the pow camp (or maybe the reverse (do pow 1st then west to hq)).
What I did was this:
I used orielly and the patton tank to blow a corner of the west bridge out. I then sent orielly south a ways to lure the protecting squad back to the gi's. I let him get hurt to about 75%hp so they'll chase him with more priority. I set 5 way points in an orbit around the gi's and we have O'reilly going around the mulberry bush so to speak with his persuants getting pulverised. Wait a minute to heal. Send patton and tim south to clear a path to just north of hq (easily done). Skirt north perimeter of hq and kill the squad preventing the sabateurs escape route (easily done). Bring gi's, anti tank and sabatuer group together. Blow the wall out of the back of the hq. send in orielly to invite the tiger tank to afternoon tea.
Do the mulberry bush routine around the non hero's. They dont get touched by the dogmatic tank. Finish hq and softs protecting it still.
A moments healing and straight over to the pow. Nothing significant on route and nothing of importance protecting pow. Forgot to assign sabateur to group so she stayed standing where she was spawned the entire game.
Very easy.
Did you know I could easily blow the west bridge?
I say try to test your scenario with a mindset of cracking a loop hole in what you think you've forced people to do. Too often I read reviews of a scenario which extol its virtues of challenge and balanced difficulty, whereas when I played it, I found a way around the authors intended course of events and experienced none of the flavorsome triggers but still won the game.
eg: if there is a forest preventing access from a direction but the author didn't think of removing slash and burn.
Any way, I enjoyed playing it as I like finding loopholes and exploiting them.
I don't care about eye candy so I didn't notice it's absence. (hmmm...)
Good Work and try to make scenarios sometimes that seem impossible to beat because you'll send people like me into a frenzied persistence of searching for ways around the obvious.
