Sorry, but I don't speak or understand french. But do you have a translation of it? If you do, thanks. If you don't, that's okay. (or something that translates it)[Edited on 02/21/04 @ 01:26 AM]

first you must take "Murat" and send him near the cavalerie on the right french flag.
Next you must writte this to make charge the cavalerie: cavalerie chargez
And if you want to make charge the french guard, take "saint-hilaire" and send him near the "officier de la garde impériale"!
please be careful, troups make their march without you, but you can operate the arlilery and some soldier to win!
Take notice, to win, your guard must arrived on the center of eylau where the russiand artilery is! |

Hi thetartine18,
i like it, to see some files of other languages here at the international heaven. But maybe you could add a README.txt to your game file, which includes a translation of the main player objectives.
Most of the selfdeclared elitist critics will cry anyway, that a non english file is bad - just do not care about. But an added translation would be fine. Just update this file ;-)
Have played it. Nice sound effects, well done. Maybe the cinematiques should be an own block at beginning or somehow between, to ensure it does not disturb the gameplay. Some more eyecandy in the map would be nice to. Playability is nice. You really should create a few more scenarios like this and bring them into a storyline, finally stick them together into a campaign. A french Napoleonic War Campaign would be nice, can you do so? I'm not going to rate it, sorry. But I do agree Big Ulrich's comment.
The scenario was okay. Needs some improvements. I could tell you some tricks to make it very interesting. Just ask me (but don't ask me everything, cause I don't know the S.E 100%), or other people. Or go download the Scenario Editor Manual, found at the Miscellaneuos Files, that would help you more.
Here's what interests me.
The scenario was in French. All the scenarios (except this one) I play were just in English.
The "moving" army. This mostly impressed me the most. I thought I had to drag the whole army there, but I didn't. About 50% (or something like that) of the army was moving for me.
The units' improvements. Some of the units had improved range and/or attack. Both my Enemy and I had the same range, making the scenario more realistic (for me). Except for one Enemy unit. It had an advantage! Good. Cause the army (my army) was large.
Here's what doesn't interest me.
The one guy on the horse was bugging me so much. My camera went focused on him whenever he was talked. Making me lose units.
Shared Line Of Sight (LOS). This makes the scenario so much easier. The ally showed me part of the army [size].
Map. The map seems kind of bla. Try making the more interesting. Like adding water or more trees.
I'll add more comments (if I see any to comment on). Just to help you out.[Edited on 02/24/04 @ 12:48 AM]

I'll take a look at this scenario - I'm far from being fluent in French (nowhere near it, in fact :p) but I can get by in everyday conversation and so many words are similar to English anyway.
I certainly don't think it's a bad thing to have scenarios in French, or any other language - the only thing you should do is provide a translated version for those who have difficulties. |
