Really interesting, but large parts of the map were left blank when I generated it.
It was really fun, though. In essence, it was a Large Islands-style map with lots of gold and stone, and a good deal of water.
I played a 1v1 versus the computer on a medium map, and I started on a landmass in the lower-right corner of the map. The narrow landmass ran all the way to the top of the map, getting narrower as it went. There were several gold mines and stone mines at the ready at my Town Centre, as well as animals and an apple tree. The enemy's territory was made up the same way (except it started in the top-left corner). There was a big island in the middle with additional resources.
All in all, a good script. My major hassle was that large sections of land turned out blank.

wow, the only RMS in this heavengames section....
i dont know if this applies to DOTMW as well, but in AoM: TT, you need to know some sort of programming lenguage like C++ and maybe some math.....
you create a RMS from coding, commands and stuff like that....... |

Hi Confused Soldier,
Random maps are modular build. Just check the ones delivered with the game and load them with a text editor. Check their include options in the beginning, which add sub-files to the one launched. Those sub-files can alternativly added directly to the main file. And there is only one way to find out: Simply grap a file and change a little bit. Launch that one in the scenario editor and check what happens. If it chrashes, te entry was not useful, if it does not crash, check out the result and do some fine tuning. |

Well, quite nice that map. :-)
On Medium - Huge maps it has everything: It consists of A somewhat deep river with two arms, that is an island in the middle, and loads of Gold, Wood and Stone. Sometimes there are also large empty areas, though.
On Small and Tiny maps the island in the middle is missing - the map then is like a rivers map, only that the river is very deep and there are no shallows.
I think there should be more random map scripts here...maybe I should create one, too :). |
