Movie- Intro to "Bermuda Triangle- B-17" Campaign

Author File Description
wbiro This File: Movie Intro for the campaign "Bermuda Triangle- B-17", where WWII pilots Buck and Roger get thrown back into Medieval times. They find themselves aiding and being aided by the French, who are in the midst of battling invading Mongol hordes. Buck and Roger find they are not the first to drop in on King Philip... he's got a jeep, a tank, and, back at his Castle, a plane from prior unfortunate timewarpers stashed away. They begin to formulate a plan for getting Buck and Roger back to their own time... if only they can survive.

Solo Fighter's Bermuda Triangle B-17 Intro Movie Review

Playibility: 4
I didn't get to play it, but if I did, it would probably get this rating.

Creativity: 5
I would never have thought of the Bermuda Triangle in any of my campaigns.

Map Design: 5
Excellent city, better than anything I can do.

Story/Instructions: 4
There weren't any instructions, but if there were, I'd give them this rating.

Overall Rating: 4.5
I can't wait for the campaign. I bet you can make it better than this.

This is an absolutely awesome movie. Although very short, it's involving and funny (as the plane takes off, Buck in his B-17 exclaims "I can smell the ocean! Coconuts! Pineapples! Pretty girls!"), and it succeeds in making the player want to play the finished scenario.

A B-17 Flying Fortress takes off on a mission in the Bermuda triangle, appropriately on Friday the 13th, and -you guessed it- goes down... and back in time.

This is an extremely creative idea, and with the humor and the alternate history added (King Phillip's France is apparently being invaded by Sun Tzu and the Mongol horde) it makes for a fantastic trailer.

The map was nicely detailed. When the B-17 took off, there were tons of ambients like other planes, boats on the sea, and so on. The camera kept up with the action in a great way.

I did have a few issues with this movie, though. First, and most minor of all, "gauges" aren't spelled "gages". More importantly, though, at the end of the movie the whole map is revealed, and then statistics are shown. I think the author should have turned off "Show Statistics" and "Cinematic Only" and then update the movie.

Additional Comments:
I highly anticipate the finished scenario or campaign. Wbiro has proven that you can be a newcomer with little knowledge of the editor and still be successfull. He has also proved once and for all, along with SCN Punk's "The night Santa Went Crazy" for Empire Earth, that "cinematic only" scenarios can be hugely entertaining.

Great work, Wbiro, you've got yourself a new admirer!
