The game was a no rush for 15 minutes so I was expecting a hard push from the German players at that time. As it turns out there was no push but I went for heavy air and my partner went total ground. By the 15 minute mark I had about 10 fighters, 4 Bombers and was working on a B-29. My fighters had the HP upgrade, bombers had the damage upgrade and I had the Cost upgrade ready for my first B-29.
I finally finished scouting the map around 20 minutes and both German players where turtling which was a bad move since they had spent most of their resources on Flak guns and only a few units. The defenses looked daunting for my Air force but I figured I could take it though with heavy casualties. Reds base had fewer AA around it so I told my partner I would start there and headed in at 24 minutes. (yes I know It was a late attack) I had 4 airfields by that time and around 30 fighters 10 bombers and 4 B-29's. The poor guy did not stand a chance. I lost 16 fighters 4 bombers and 1 B-29 but his base was in total ruin and 1 more fly by and he was out of the game. Wow that went well. Now for enemy # 2. He built dual AA gun positions all around his base. I tried being sneaky and flying around his defenses and ran into a large attack force of his moving on my partner. I think he had about 8 AA guns in his formation, they totally decimated my units as they closed in for the attack. I tried to target the edges of the group (by selecting a unit to target) but he just moved them around.
Lesson # 1. Massed German AA guns are very nasty and should not be approached with aircraft.
Lesson # 2. Do not target a mobile unit with the B-29, target the ground. The B-29 is very hesitant about dropping a nuke on moving targets and will just circle around them till they stop moving.
I lost almost my entire fleet of planes to the German AA and my partner had to save me.
Lesson # 3. Unless you do not like your partner warn him when you are going to nuke the enemy so he does not move too close to them.
Most of my base was destroyed but I ran my civ's away and rebuilt. This time I built air a little slower and pumped heavy ground. In the end 2v1 is not very fair and we just overwhelmed him after a couple more battles.
Lesson # 4. I need to work hard on my scouting.
Lesson # 5. I need to improve my team chat. I am notoriously quiet most of the time.
Lesson # 6. I know I have lots of room for improvement but that was a very fun game.
