These are also friendly rivalries
Mine however are in no particular order
1.Stealth and Kremlin
The two are great players, regardless of any taunts or mannerism, their games are rarely flawed unless lag corrupts the game, this wasnt much of a rivalry, but the games agianst eachother were good things to watch and see how they developed.
2.Me and Elder
Very Fun games at times, me and him always would have games that ended with close fnishes, usually because of a small blunder on my part, but helped me learn from the mistakes I made and refined my strategy as well, thnx for the great games elder! If any are recorded try to get em up maybe?
3.Imp Clans and WW clans
Huge battle here, each claimed the other as coward from the others age preference, and always struggled fighting in eachothers settings, some of the plays learned and adapted to both settings, but this was a long lasting conflict in empires and its 2nd generation if you would call it that, where there was really only two major clan types, and the struggle for the supreme type was a great rivalry that improved many players
4.DM players and non dm players
Yet another HUGE battle, which was better, which had more strategy? While I started as a hater of DM, I tried it and realised that it can be an extremly difficult game when two sides are matched and the game drags on, in deathmatch, you must have speed and micro to control a large army size and then create a huge base economy to defeat the opponents, non dm is prefered due to the fact that micro can be alot of fun in empires, and building your economy first then being able to sucessfully have a superior army control in order to win the battle, and seen as more stratigic, neverless, it was a big rivalry for popularity, but non dm got a pretty large edge over DM.
5.Originals and new wave
This was the big one. Where the original empires players had given up on the game for a extended period of time, then dropped by and found a disguisting new wave of players with copy and paste strategies and tactic mimicery, the original ones were few in number, but their generation of players that built the strong base for the hardcore fanbase of the game showed that they could easily kick it with the new blood of the game. Originals had struggled against the cookie cutter strategies of the people of this new wave. We all know that england drummers of our day pissed off original people, they angrily attempted many ways to counter and shift the balance of the civs, and had suceeded a few times, but eventually the new wave would create more copy paste strategies that would be adapted and so the struggle proved a powerful rivalry of
Originality v.s Mainstream play
And probably for until this game dies, this struggle will always continue, because remember friends,
YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A TRULY UNIQUE STRATEGY TO YOURSELF, SOMEONE WILL OBSERVE YOUR ACTIONS AND MIMIC OR ADAPT THEM TO HIS OWN ARSENAL OF STRATEGIES
thats just how it works
Imperial age sucks
World war auto setts pwn
I rest my case
